This Privacy Policy explains how ArikeAI(“Arike”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use Arike — an AI shopkeeper that replies to your customers on WhatsApp, takes orders, and helps confirm payments. By using Arike you agree to this policy.

Who we are

ArikeAI is a software service operated from Lagos, Nigeria. For any privacy question, contact us at privacy@arike.ai.

Information we collect

  • Seller account data: your name, business name, WhatsApp phone number, email address, and settings you provide (business hours, FAQs, delivery zones).
  • Catalogue & payout data: the products, prices, and the bank/payment details you add so buyers can pay you.
  • Buyer conversation data: when your customers message your WhatsApp, we process their phone number, message content, and order/delivery details so the assistant can reply and capture orders on your behalf.
  • Usage & technical data: log data, device/browser information, and analytics about how the service is used.

How we use information

  • To provide the service: generate replies, quote your prices, capture orders, and help confirm payments.
  • To send you notifications and product updates about your account.
  • To provide support, prevent abuse, secure the service, and meet legal obligations.
  • To improve Arike’s quality and reliability.

We do not sell your personal data.

WhatsApp, Meta & third-party providers

Arike connects to the WhatsApp Business Platform provided by Meta. Messages handled through WhatsApp are also subject to Meta’s / WhatsApp’s privacy terms. We also rely on trusted processors to run the service, including:

  • AI providers (e.g. Anthropic, Voyage AI) to generate and ground replies on your catalogue.
  • Payment providers (e.g. Paystack) to help process and confirm payments.
  • Cloud, hosting, email and analytics providers that operate our infrastructure.

These providers process data only to perform services for us, under their own security and privacy terms.

Data retention

We keep personal data only for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. You can request deletion at any time (see “Your rights” below and our Data Deletion Instructions).

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data, including access controls and encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including Nigeria’s NDPR and, where relevant, the GDPR), you may request to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@arike.ai.

Children

Arike is intended for businesses and people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

International transfers

Your data may be processed outside your country by us or our providers. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place for such transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date above.
